12 months, 88 posts, 795 followers on Twitter, 1239 visitors to my blog and a happy one year Blog-versary to me. This is just absolutely remarkable results and I'm totally over the moon about them, who would have known?
I decided to start a blog just to put my thoughts in writing not knowing it would have got me this far. I wanted an outlet for my views, even when I thought no one would ever want to read them.
My favourite posts so far:
About me
I realise that I don't actually share a lot of personal information on my blog, the reason I didn't was to hide my identity just a little in the beginning purely for work purposes. But now, I could not be more proud of what I have achieved with the blog, that I feel quite comfortable sharing more and more. Here is me, a face to the name finally:
I work part time as a Conveyancing Assistant, I am mummy to a beautiful daughter. I'm a coffee lover and a definite chocoholic.
If I could be anywhere in the world right now, where would I be?
There are two places really, the first would be the beautiful Lake Garda in Italy, have you seen how breathtaking it looks? I am hoping to get there one day. And the second would be in an infinity pool, sipping a cocktail overlooking a white sandy beach in The Maldives.
Who is my Celebrity crush?
This one is real easy…. Hugh Jackman! I have had a massive crush on him since forever. I have calendars, cups and I own every single film he is in, on dvd! Yep big crush there.
My post with the highest views so far is:
Some high points
My very first one I wanted to share on such an occasion is receiving my 1000th visitor to the site. I had the news in February that's just 10 months in! I celebrated in my own little way at home with a small glass of wine - cheers.
Something that makes me happy is receiving the comments from my readers. Of course I know it has to be good quality content in the first place but there have been some pleasant surprises. In that I've posted a blog not expecting much of a read and the comments have been both high and supportive.
Also, blogging has taught me some new skills that I didn't think I had. Right from creative writing, to uploading on a live website, to promoting on social media. I do not do technology, a saying that will probably be engraved on my tombstone, so uploading my writing, images and SEO (search engine optimisation) work that comes with posting, has been very eye opening, but I have achieved it. I also didn't think I would be a writer in my life and now I am.
Some low points
Although the above have been so great so far, it's clear I feel I need to share low points too.
One that comes to mind was the ever so growing 'imposter syndrome' within the wide range of writing community on Twitter. I felt such a small fish in a huge gigantic pond right at the beginning. But I was determined to remember I was completely different to others and everyone starts somewhere. It got me through because of the continued support of everyone there too. I kept posting when I could, interacting as much as possible and over time, grew my followers.
Scheduling was a very important lesson learnt over time. I am in such a great position now and ahead of key dates to release my posts. But it was hard work in the beginning, like everything we do you need to keep going and work at it, I can see why it is easy to give up.
And last of all, I still haven't found my niche. I share a lot of personal views but if I wanted in the future to make money from my blog, brands would not want to work with me. It is something that alarms me a little. I do love what the blog has become but how long I can keep it up for, without finding a niche, is in doubt.
What are my goals for my blog?

Source of Traffic
I am only part of Twitter with my blog, I don't advertise it anywhere else and if I want more traffic to my site, it just makes sense to find another source. I am currently searching for other forms of social media too.
Become self hosted
Currently I am with a Webhoster company and have been from day one. Now 12 months on and doing so well, I really need to be brave and take that step to become self-hosted. Wish me luck.
Host A giveaway
Something I have really wanted to do for a while now. I have the perfect one in mind and it will actually be a key thing my blog will be based around. The one goal that will require the hardest work. I will schedule it all in advance like many great plans and execute it hopefully, with a bang. Fingers crossed.
Thank you for reading and once again for all your support over the past 12 months.
Do you have a favourite post of mine that maybe resonated with you?

Happy blog anniversary, and well done to you! Great milestones. I hope you keep enjoying blogging and that you celebrate many more years!
Thank you for your comforting words, it has been a wonderful experience so far
Congratulations! As I'm 4 months in, I feel like (and hope) that the 1st year is the hardest. I'm proud of you for fighting to keep going even when you started to doubt yourself. The only person to compare yourself is you. You know why you're blogging and you know your story. We have no idea of what's happening with anyone else, just what we see on the surface. We all have to start somewhere.
Looking forward to reading more from you and seeing you grow toward your goals. Bring on the traffic!
